Where are we talking from today?
I am an independent, country artist living in Nashville, TN.

Do you collaborate with other artists?
I’ve collaborated with friends from Belmont University, which includes writing and performing songs.

Music-wise what are you working on right now?
I’ve been working on writing songs and performing live out on Broadway. I would like to boost my social media presence.

Are you currently promoting a single or album?
Yes, I have the first single that I’m hoping to release in the next few weeks.

What do you feel are the key elements in your music that should resonate with listeners?
I think what separates me from other artists is my low vocal tone and trying to mesh that sound with modern country.

How would you describe your development as an artist?
It was hard for me to settle on focusing on country music since I love to create all different types of music, but after a lot of soul searching, I realized country music is truly where I belong.

Could you describe your creative processes?
I could get an idea for a song just out of the blue doing anything. As soon as I get an idea, I have to immediately record it on voice memos, so I don’t forget. From that one line or idea, I can create the song.

Do you have a personal favorite track amongst your music?
This song I’m about to release is my favorite song I’ve written and recorded, so far.

What is your present state of mind? What is your most treasured possession?
I don’t know what the hell to write for “my present state of mind” and “most treasured possession” I guess just that I’m excited for the future and my voice.

Florida-based artist BankrollShell stands out amongst a new generation of artists with recent release

Born in Sasebo, Japan, raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Shelton R. Jackson III, aka BankrollSHELL stands out amongst a new generation of artists. Displaying his creative ability as early on as eight years old, the artist found comfort and solace in expressing himself through writing. His writing led to the pathway and birth of his debut single “Cross Roads,” released on January 20th, 2019. The single connected with an instantaneous fanbase recognizing the artist's incredible writing ability articulated in clever and at times soulful lyrics. Following up on the successful release of “Cross Roads,” the artist released the singles “My Turn,” on February 1st, 2020, and “Smoke,” on May 1st, 2020. A music video was released for the single “My Turn,” to YouTube on March 8th, 2020. Both singles were released in advance to the anticipation of the E.P “Blitz’d Emotions,” released on June 14th, 2020. The singles and E.P were met with critical and fan acclaim. Hip Hop Weekly has described the artist and his music as something “that will positively inspire a generation to the next level of music.”

Currently, the artist is promoting the recent release of the singles “Rock Out” released on August 14th, 2020, and “Better Off,” released on September 11th, 2020. A music video is ready to be released to YouTube for the single “Better Off,” in October, 2020. Both singles are from the upcoming yet to be titled E.P set to be released sometime in 2021.

With a fascinating message in his music that sparks inspiration, healing, and sheds light on social issues, BankrollShell is contributing to the voice of a generation. He hopes that his music helps to not only give this generation something to say but a way of being heard. His latest singles “Rock Out,” and “Better Off,” are currently on demand via Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming services.

What have been the greatest challenges/frustrations of your career so far? Challenges,

I’ve played in 3 different kinds of bands. Anything from Classic Rock, Cover Bands to Christian Contemporary Music. I even had the honor of producing all the music for a short film in Atlanta, GA. The frustrations would be, being told no numerous times or it’s not what we are looking for or that’s great but we need more.

Where you @ online?

Instagram for now, slowly working on SoundCloud, Spotify, and Spinnup.

Where are we talking from today?

I'm in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Where did you get your artist's name from?

Playing "dozens" was something we used to do as kids in L.A. when I was growing up although we didn't know that was what it was called. It's a game of one-up-manship and is quite foundational to rap battles. I wanted a name that reflected the mission to have which is to mix-up dozens of genres, work with dozens of artists, and create dozens of memorable and enjoyable tunes. Hence, Dozenz.

Music-wise what are you working on right now?

Working on a new batch of synthpop tunes and a couple of rock songs with some The Beatles, Inxs, and U2 vibes. Also expanding my collaborator network beyond my usual haunts to get some more diversified and undiscovered talent on the records.

Are you currently promoting a single or album?

I'm promoting my SoundCloud session/album as a preview for the material I'll be releasing next. let's just say I'm saving the best for last.

Who or what were the most significant influences on your musical life and career?

My mother had the biggest influence on me and gave me my musical foundations and appreciation for pop music and great but tasteful songwriting and singing. She's still one of my first sounding boards for my ideas. Then it was Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Tupac, Teddy Riley, The Beach Boys, Tears for fears, Crowded House, Oasis, Radiohead, The Beatles, U2, Take That (mostly Gary Barlow), Bruno Mars, and recently Taylor Swift (she's good with the stories and hooks)

Who are your favorite musicians?

Johnny Greenwood and The Edge are my guitar heroes, Questlove from The Roots, Bootsy Collins bass, Dave Grohl on anything, Reni and Mani, and Johnny Squire from The Stone Roses (what a band!), Bernard Butler, John Mayer. There are so many.

Meet Prince Peezy & Lala Chanel, the duo behind the new single “Laced.” The duo met in 2007 in Broward County and their energy shifted each other’s perspective on music so they formed a special bond and decided to give the world something they sonically felt it needed. The overall vibe on ‘Laced’ is about the modern-day Hip hop Bonnie & Clyde with a more current creative approach.

“Laced,” produced by Jacob Lethal Beats, was released on January 17th, 2020 and is available on Spotify and all major streaming platforms. A music video for the single was released on March 27th, 2020.

Prince Peezy & Lala Chanel has seen moderate success including performing at South by Southwest twice, South Padre Island Spring Break twice, and traveling to Brazil with DJ Unknown at “The Audio Club” for the JaruTour. The group has opened for successful acts such as Big Sean, pop star Kesha, Waka Flocka, and Roscoe Dash. The group is also a two-time nominee for “Best Hip-Hop Duo” at the Underground Music Awards. Prince Peezy & Lala Chanel’s goal is to claim their space in the entertainment world and create music history through accomplishments.

We feel like the whole experience helped us delve deeper and be more honest and vulnerable in our songs and writing. Deeper into the “Blue” as it were. Blue is also a power color for both of us, so with some creative thinking, we came up with N2BLÜ.

Music-wise what are you working on right now?

We have actually finished our first album, titled “Phoenix Heart," which will be releasing this summer and we have already started our next album.

Are you currently promoting a single or album?

We are currently promoting our latest single, Kiss Me Like the Devil, which is available on every online music platform along with the lyric video on our YouTube channel. We will actually be releasing our next single, “Again”, and lyric video on April 21, 2020.

Who or what were the most significant influences on your musical life and career?

For me (Jonathan), my biggest influences growing up were Better Than Ezra, Duncan Sheik, and Savage Garden. For Kosta, his biggest influence growing up was DC Talk.

As a musician, what is your definition of success?

I’d say our definition of success is being able to do what we love (making music), being able to share it with the world, and helping other people through our music.

Joe The Bluesman aka Joe Campobasso was born in Kansas City in 1954. Early in his childhood, his parents moved to Huntington Beach, California where he would spend most of his youth. A natural musician, he was already playing the violin by the third grade and by high school he was playing in the school’s band. Joe also played bass in a band during his teen years known as “Pimit Creek,” who mainly played CSN&Y covers. Joe’s musical influences include Count Basis and Sarah Vaughn. After high school, he put music as a profession aside stating “I have always had an interest in music but I had to put music as a side interest, like so many people I took the time to raise my family. Three years ago I said goodbye to my day job to make music my number one priority.”

To date, counting the release of his upcoming single, Joe has released three singles and one E.P. A Deep South and Midwest tour is planned to promote the upcoming single. Touring will be combined with promotional efforts to market the single.

Nona Brown is answering God’s call by releasing music with a message of hope. Her new album “Songs from my Journal, Volume 1” was released on November 5th, 2019 and encourages her listeners to find a little more faith and love. The first single, “We Are Healed” was met with praise from fellow believers and critics alike. Tuned Loud Magazine called the song “Powerful Worship!”

A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Nona’s musical journey spans over 30 years, working with The Fray, Lenny Williams, Pattie LaBelle, Stephan Jenkins and Mickey Thomas. In addition, Nona’s gospel music roots led to many wonderful opportunities such as working with Josh Groban as choir coordinator for the Northern California tour, guest vocalist and composer on three national recordings of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA), guest vocalist at Oprah Winfrey’s Legends Ball and until he passed, group member of gospel music legend Edwin Hawkins and the New Edwin Hawkins Singers.

Nona is very active in the music community and has served as Vice President and Board Member of the San Francisco Chapter of the Recording Academy. Her recent awards include Trailblazer Award from the Equality International Film Festival, The Northern California Entertainers Music Awards (NCEM) Female Gospel Artist of The Year, In The Spirit Award, Black Music Association People’s Choice Award, and Bay Area Gospel Music Awards Female Artist of the Year and three Hollywood Music Award nominations.

Her new project, “Songs from my Journal, Volume 1 is not the beginning for Nona Brown. In 1996 she recorded her first Gospel CD entitled “I’ll Sing My Song” and the songs and messages are still powerful today. Teaming up with multi-GRAMMY Award winner Edwin Hawkins as the producer of her new CD was an amazing start for the project. Sadly, Edwin passed away before completion. Although this was a huge emotional blow to Nona, she continued the journey and recorded the project live at South Bay Community Church in Fremont, California on September 22, 2018.

The new project was released on November 5, 2019, and spent two weeks on Billboard’s “Gospel Album Sales” Chart, ranking #14 the first week and #21 the second week. Loaded with melodious songs composed by Nona over the last 20 years, the project also features. Lynette Hawkins-Stephens, Ashling Cole Tracy Perrilliat, Mark Brown and Patrick Sturgis, who help Nona weave the melodies and tell stories of endurance, faith and love. The name Nona Brown is definitely on the rise.

2. What would you like to accomplish in 2020?

My path is to create a monumental album. It will sound like nature itself.

3. What is your take on politics?

I’m fundamentally an anarchist. Not like the Moltov cocktail throwing rebel type, but the definition of what anarchy really is. I think everybody should just live how they want and do what they please and sort things out for themselves instead of having any type of authoritative power in place.

4. Where did you get your artist’s name from?

Chaz is a nickname for my middle name Charles. And Ultra just sounds cool with it.

5. What was it like putting together your latest project?

I didn’t do much, the music comes through me, not by me or for me. It creates itself, structures itself in an album, and releases itself. I’m a bystander as much as anyone else.

6. If you were going to be stranded on a deserted island, what musical item would you take with you and why?

Acoustic guitar so I could sing and make music without electricity.

SirNature AlexZander is BACK!!!!!

And he’s back with a Vengeance; after four long years of simmering, meditating and brewing the sounds for his new release, “Southern Soul Phunk”, is finally HERE!!!!!. This new project is made up of 14 great songs that are guaranteed to get you moving and grooving. It has something for everyone: Blues, Soul, RnB, and even a little Jazz. With songs like, “Hey Ms. Sexie Thang,” “We Be Makin Luv,” “Dance Wit Me,” “Real Good Lovin,” and a lot more. This entire project was written, arranged and produced by SirNature. The Prince camp was an inspiring time in his life, using that opportunity to become a student of Prince. Watching, listening, and learning the ins and outs of how to become a complete Artist from one of the world’s top entertainers, was PRICELESS. SirNature says he is forever humbled by that experience. R.I.P. Therefore, it is only honorable, that when you learn from the best, you do your best. So if you are seeking an energetic, exciting, and most entertaining show, then SirNature AlexZander is your man. This is by far one of the finest productions I’ve had the chance to review in quite some time, and SirNature is sure to give you a first class performance when it’s his time to grace the stage. From start to finish, you are sure to get your money’s worth. No Doubt! All I can say is go out and get your CD today, you will not be disappointed, and He’s an Old School Soul, with a Southern Soul twist, “Southern Soul Phunk,”

SirNature AlexZander hails his humble beginnings to a great small town in Alabama called Movico. This is where he started, idolizing his older brothers, the late great soul singer (Silas Kimbrough Jr), and his brother in crime, soul singer, Johnny Ray Kimbrough. But as God would have it this was not the end, as a matter of fact it was just the beginning. SirNature moved to Minneapolis Minnesota with Johnny Ray, and as fate would have it, he met another young man, Kirk Johnson, they became like brothers as Kirk and SirNature began to dance and perform together. SirNature, a longtime producer, performer and choreographer soon became one of Minnesota’s favorite dance instructors and one of the most sought-after performers in the Twin Cities. While in Minneapolis/St. Paul, SirNature got the most extraordinary, biggest break in his life, the opportunity to be a dancer and choreographer in the movie “Purple Rain!!!!!!” although the appearance was brief it made a LIFE LONG, FOREVER impact on his career.

SirNature and Kirk went on to represent Minnesota on the national TV show “Dance Fever,” where the two of them won 2nd place. After that, the self-acclaimed Kirk became Prince’s best friend, drummer, and confidant. SirNature AlexZander decided to pour all his time and energy into working on his TV and music career.

SirNature made sure to keep himself relevant in the industry by always doing something positive. Following him working with the Late Great Prince, he flexed his musical skills by producing several music projects. Once he released his first album “Who Am I? Which is still a European favorite even to this day; he never stopped. SirNature continued releasing projects such as: “Mocha YaYa Untaymed,” an R&B project with Mocha YaYa (Prince’s former personal assistant), “I Am Gayle Austin,” a Gospel project with Gayle Austin and “New Jack Blues,” his Blues project featuring himself. We would be remiss if we did not mention the popular Hip-Hop Project “The Prep” released on Excelle Productions Record Label. All projects are still available and are doing quite well on all digital download sites.

SirNature is no novice when it comes to the entertainment scene, he went on to write, produce, and direct his own television show called “Twin City Beats.” This show was good enough to land a spot on the local T.V. network. He also produced a gospel music awards show that also aired on a local NBC station in Waterloo, Iowa. His work does not stop there, he went on to star in a few independent films and he performed with other great celebrities & artists such as Bill Cosby, Alexander O’Neal, The late Ray Charles, Roger Troutman and Weird Al Yankovich, Morris Day and The Time, and the list goes on.

Florida's next big star and best-kept secret so far, Raven has been making waves with her music across Florida and the Southern United States region.

"Coco Brown The Remix," is a vocally driven song where Raven Salve' sings with absolute passion. Her vocals are only complimented by the songs slick production, providing an upbeat and powerful song built around clever lyrics.

Pensacola, Florida native Raven Salve' was born Ebony D Weatherspoon on July 13th, 1989. She started to enjoy music around the age of five and it was at this early age she realized she had a passion that would one day become a profession. A natural musician, Raven started playing the Clarinet around the age of 12, the piano at the age of 13 and also started taking voice lessons at 13. Although she knew since the age of five that she wanted a career in music, it wasn't until five years ago that she started pursuing music professionally.

Raven is just as passionate about her music career as she is for the causes she champions for. In 2014 Raven started a 501c(3) non-profit organization, "Women Against Rape & Domestic Violence Inc" (WAR&DV.) Since several of her family members are survivors of these issues, she wanted to be involved in playing a part in bringing awareness to these problems any way she could. The goal and mission of WAR&DV are to support organizations that are already established and equipped to provide shelter and services to families on a year-round basis. Raven wrote two singles "Victim No More" and "Cry For America", both tracks were written to bring awareness to domestic violence and sexual assault. "Victim No More" is the theme song for WAR&DV, it is owned by the organization and every dollar of the sales goes to support the organization.

To date, Raven has released two albums. She is currently promoting her single and new video for "Coco Brown The Remix," and the album itself "Metamorphosis The Transformation." She is currently touring regionally/nationally to promote the single, video and the album. Raven is also the radio host for "The Love Grooves" show which airs Sun-Sat 10 pm - 12 am est on WLMR-DB Radio.

Links:
Music Video - https://youtu.be/iF-pkVlVOwM
Website - https://ravensalve.com/
Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/artist/2Q5FC9MDcPY9wbI8unAi4h
Apple Music - https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/raven-salve/1056574347
Sound Cloud - https://soundcloud.com/ravensalve
Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/ravensalve124/
Twitter - https://twitter.com/ravensalve?lang=en
Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/raven_salve/

1. Where are we talking from today?

A. Queens, New York. Born & raised.

2. What would you like to accomplish in 2019?

A. I’d like to develop a few of my songs that have been sitting on the shelf. But I have to admit I’m very blessed with this year's accomplishments. I won a 2019 LDM Award for “Wishing You The Best,” & the music video has been picked up by some channels and film festivals.

3. What is your take on politics?

A. I don’t speak politics :)

4. Where did you get your artist's name from?

A. My mom. God bless her soul. I decided to keep in my middle name because it’s a little less common.

5. Growing up, how important has music been in your life? Can you recall the moment when you decided that you wanted to be a musician? Was it an easy or difficult choice to make?

A. I’ve always had a passion for music. Every time I went to a concert I always wanted to be on stage. So when I got my funding, I decided to invest in my passion. I love telling a story and connecting with the audience.

6. Was there ever a time when you thought about doing something else? If you weren’t a musician today, what could you see yourself doing?

A. A novelist. I love creating stories and letting the world know.

7. What has been the biggest surprise so far about making music your career? What has been an unexpected or welcome challenge to it all?

A. Working with creative folks is tough. It’s not like a normal 9-5 job. You have to get the best out of a person artistically and need to make sure they are in their comfort zone. You also have to love it. You may not make money off it or get notoriety right away or ever, so be sure you’re in it for the right reasons.

8. What was it like putting together your EP?

A. A lot of work, patience, and passion. It took several months to complete and I had my doubts, but fortunately, I had the right support system. The result was well worth it!

9. Who are some of your favorite artists or rather, what musicians have continued to inspire you and your music? Who would you still love to work with in the future?

A. I love Beth Hart, Prince, Stephanie Mills, Buddy Guy, Chaka Khan, Chris Cornell, Nirvana, Bonnie Raitt. My tastes vary & so do my genres. I would love the opportunity to work with Bonnie Raitt, Beth Hart & Buddy Guy.

10. What has it been like keeping up with your social media accounts and all of the different platforms? Is it hard to stay up to date on it all? What would you say is your favorite way to connect with your fans now?

A. It’s tough to keep up when you have a lot going on. I try to thank & promote everyone who supports my music. Sometimes it’ll take me a day or two to catch up, but I usually get there.

11. If you were going to be stranded on a deserted island, what musical item would you take with you and why?

A. Whiskey (for creative juices).

12. If your music was going to be featured on any TV show that is currently on right now, which would you love it to be on? Or if you prefer, what is a movie that you love that you wish your music was featured in?

A. I’d love for my song “Quarter Past” to be featured in the upcoming remake feature “Uptown Saturday Night.” The song has a smooth Harlem Nightclub vibe and I think would fit perfectly

13. At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?

A. I hope they will get the story and maybe dance a little.

14. When you are not making music what else do you enjoy to do?

A. Listening to music, watching movies or episodes of Family Guy or The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

1. Where are we talking from today?

A: We’re from Ventura, CA but we’re currently in Anaheim, CA gearing up to play a homeless benefit concert tonight at the world-famous Doll Hut.

2. What would you like to accomplish in 2019?

A: Our main goal for 2019 is continuing to promote our self-titled EP. We've been playing shows all over Southern California and have several more lined up in the Fall. After that, we plan on writing our next record.

3. What is your take on politics?

A: We think Politics and Government sucks, period. But we hate what we see going on around us right now and it’s reflective in our music.

4. Where did you get your artist name from?

A: Our name was inspired by “If -”, a poem by Rudyard Kipling.

5. Growing up, how important has music been in your life? Can you recall the moment when you decided that you wanted to be a musician? Was it an easy or difficult choice to make?

A: We all grew up playing in bands and obsessing over music. For me personally (Thomas, guitar) - my Dad worked at a record label when I was a kid and would bring records home, so music was always playing at my house growing up. When I was 14 I received a guitar for Christmas and I've been playing pretty much every day since.

6. Was there ever a time when you thought about doing something else? If you weren’t a musician today, what could you see yourself doing?

A: We all have day jobs, responsibilities, etc but we share a deep passion for music and we’ll always play for that reason. Making money or having a career was never the goal...we simply love writing, playing and expressing ourselves through music.

7. What has been the biggest surprise so far about making music your career? What has been an unexpected or welcome challenge to it all?

A: Although music isn’t our career at this point, we’ve had some great opportunities along the way. The biggest was recording with Andrew Berlin at The Blasting Room. Andrew is an incredibly talented Producer/Engineer and many of our musical heroes have recorded at that studio, so that was a real honor.

8. What was it like putting together your E.P?

A: As musicians, we enjoy the process of recording. Splitting time between Captains Quarters in Ventura, CA and The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO was a fun and rewarding experience, as it allowed us to get the best sounds out of each studio.

9. Who are some of your favorite artists or rather, what musicians have continued to inspire you and your music? Who would you still love to work with in the future?

A: Captain Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters! We love all genres and all four of us have our different favorites. We try to reflect that in the songs we write. That said, Subhumans, Quicksand, Pixies, The Bronx, Boy Sets Fire, Refused, Black Flag & Hot Water Music are some of the bands we draw inspiration from and would love to work with any of them.

10. What has it been like keeping up with your social media accounts and all of the different platforms? Is it hard to stay up to date on it all? What would you say is your favorite way to connect with your fans now?

A: We enjoy staying engaged with our friends and fans via the various social media platforms...it’s never a challenge because we dig it!

11. If you were going to be stranded on a deserted island, what musical item would you take with you and why?

A: An iPod so we can listen to music! But we'd also fashion musical instruments from coconuts and tree branches.

12. If your music was going to be featured on any TV show that is currently on right now, which would you love it to be on? Or if you prefer, what is a movie that you love that you wish your music was featured in?

A: Rick & Morty, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Stranger Things.

13. At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?

A: Hopefully we can inspire people to live their best life and make the most of each day!

14. When you are not making music what else do you enjoy to do?

A: Hanging with friends and family, surfing, climbing, snowboarding, bowling

15. Joe The Bluesman lives out his convictions and lays out his soul in his music. You can hear in the way he sings and you can feel it in the way he plays the guitar. The new king of blues, Joe is on a mission to bring blues back to the forefront of the music scene. "I feel that a lot of the quality has left the music these days," Joe The Bluesman says. "I want to make great quality music that moves people, and that will be the driving force behind the music's success."

Joe recently released the music video for his upcoming single "One," on YouTube on July 13th, 2019. For the single Joe curated a masterful recording, working with some of the best musicians blues has to offer to give the song new life. "One," is a cover of U2's song of the same name released on their 1991 album Achtung Baby. The song was a commercial success for U2.

Joe states that he chose to cover the song because "this is a powerful song that moved people when it was released then and I am confident our cover will move people today."

Following the recent release of the music video for "One" released on July 13th, 2019, Joe's upcoming single will be released to all major streaming platforms on September 2nd, 2019.

Joe The Bluesman aka Joe Campobasso was born in Kansas City in 1954. Early in his childhood, his parents moved to Huntington Beach, California where he would spend most of his youth. A natural musician, he was already playing the violin by the third grade and by high school he was playing in the school's band. Joe also played bass in a band during his teen years known as "Pimit Creek," who mainly played CSN&Y covers. Joe's musical influences include Count Basis and Sarah Vaughn. After high school, he put music as a profession aside stating "I have always had an interest in music but I had to put music as a side interest, like so many people I took the time to raise my family. Three years ago I said goodbye to my day job to make music my number one priority."

To date, counting the release of his upcoming single, Joe has released two singles and one E.P. A Deep South and Midwest tour is planned to promote the upcoming single. Touring will be combined with promotional efforts to market the single.

1. Where are we talking from today?

A. Atlanta Georgia.

2. What would you like to accomplish in 2019?

A. I would like to get an opportunity to perform with a full slated band, presented to an audience that just loves being entertained.

3. What is your take on politics?

A. The World is a Stage!

4. Growing up, how important has music been in your life? Can you recall the moment when you decided that you wanted to be a musician? Was it an easy or difficult choice to make? Music is something that is grown within you, how important it becomes is up to you the individual.

A. I became addicted to music when I was about 8 or nine years of age, my brothers and cousins were my inspiration. Getting in the music business wasn’t a choice or a decision, it was in my DNA.

5. Was there ever a time when you thought about doing something else? If you weren’t a musician today, what could you see yourself doing?

A. Well, actually, I love a lot of different things that exist in life. For example, I went to college on a four-year athletic scholarship, football and track. I played semi pro football for 4 yrs, I learned a couple of different trades, including, electrical, and instrumentation, I’ve also recently acquired my C.D.L license. I love to explore different challenges in life.

6. What has been the biggest surprise so far about making music your career? What has been an unexpected or welcome challenge to it all?

A. The biggest surprise to me is that the same obstacles that exist in secular music, blues, etc. exists in Gospel Music field as well. Crabs, Crabs, Crabs. Getting your music heard, played, introduced or what ever on broadcast radio stations.

7. What was it like putting together your EP?

A. It takes time to put together a good project.

8. Who are some of your favorite artists or rather, what musicians have continued to inspire you and your music? Who would you absolutely still love to work with in the future?

A. Of course that would be Prince (R.I.P.) I learned a lot from him, in the short time I spent at the warehouse. His work ethic was impeccable. The late great master of the vocoder, Mr. Roger Troutman, gave me the confidence I needed to take charge of the stage. I have no preference, I would love to work with anyone that loves music.

9. What has it been like keeping up with your social media accounts and all of the different platforms?

A. Is it hard to stay up to date on it all? What would you say is your favorite way to connect with your fans now? Well, we all know that FB is one of the most familiar ways of keeping up with your fans. I’m not up on some of the other accounts yet, but I hope to expand those connections real soon.

10. If your music was going to be featured on any TV show that is currently on now, which would you love it to be on? Or if you prefer, what is a movie that you love that you wish your music was featured in?

A. Well, I think that any platform that showcases an artist music would be much welcomed. I would like to finish a movie that I've written, and feature my music in it, if you really want to know the truth. I produce a demo, you can check it out on you tube “Mary Ann” The Incident.

11. At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?

A. That it is different, and ads a refreshing taste to the Southern Soul Blues Genre.

12. When you are not making music what else do you enjoy to do?

A. Handyman work, Handyman. Building things, connecting electricity,

13. Where you @ online?

Pensacola, Florida r&b and soul Artist Raven Salve' has returned with her most powerful album yet, "Metamorphosis The Transformation." The album is the sophomore release from r&b and soul artist Raven Salve'. Her lyrics on the album weave a tale through superior songwriting, rich sounds and exquisite vocals. The latest single "Coco Brown The Remix" and the album tell a story of "a woman who is blossoming into a person who is very much conscience and aware of who she is and totally knows what she wants." PCDC Artists featured the up and coming singer and referred to her as "an amazingly talented young songstress, Raven has quickly developed a reputation for releasing powerful and soulful music."

With each album release, Raven Salve' continues to show her ability to keep producing music that makes a statement and moves you. Her latest project, "Metamorphosis The Transformation" is the most epic project in her career so far. The album was released on July 13th, 2019 and is available on all major streaming services.

Pensacola, Florida native Raven Salve was born Ebony D Weatherspoon on July 13th, 1989.

She is currently promoting her single "Coco Brown The Remix" and the album itself "Metamorphosis The Transformation." She is currently touring regionally/nationally to promote the single and the album. Raven is also the radio host for "The Love Grooves" show which airs Sun-Sat 10 pm - 12 am est on WLMR-DB Radio.

1. Where are we talking from today?

I am currently writing from the kitchen table as I've been gently nudged out of my home studio, dubbed Found Sound Laboratory, by my daughters and their friends while they have an impromptu jam session on drums, an old Casio (named Casios Clay), pink ministrat, and a cheap radio shack mic plugged into an even cheaper tremolo amp. It's polyphonic insanity that sounds better than anything I could spend months trying to perfect in GarageBand.

2. Where did you get your artist name from?

BrokeFace is a name that came out one day while I was writing lyrics and I dug it. It's become a persona I can use to really get to the crux of something I'm meditating on. I personally might not be able to point out a very painful truth about me to myself, which I consider one of my responsibilities as a writer, but BrokeFace has that freedom and it's been quite liberating, if not a little harrowing.

3. Music-wise what are you working on right now? Are you currently promoting a single or album?

I am currently finishing an album titled Dirty White. It's a mixtape of pieces I've been working on since I started writing my own music about 4 years ago. I've recently felt a very strong sense of what my sound is, which is something I haven't been able to grasp since I began to make my own music. As I was putting the album together, it was shaping up to be a chronicle of that journey. I was also able to find a through-line sound wise so, to me, the album sounds like one long song that goes all over the map but feels whole as well. I haven't figured out what to release for singles but Love Beast, Grasshoppers, and Swear Off are strong songs.

4. Who or what were the most significant influences on your musical life and career?

Well, the Dirty White album is very much influenced by albums like Beasties Check Your Head, Radiohead's O.K. Computer, Kendrick Lamar's Damn, and to some extent Zappa and P-Funk as well as Prince. There's a Purple Rain cover on the album. As a child growing up in the Massachusetts suburbs near Plymouth, I first started piano then, wanting to be John Bonham, on to the drums, but slowly realized that John Paul Jones was the spirit of Zeppelin. Those discoveries, along with all of the music of the 50s and 60s (Rock (Chuck Berry), r&b (Otis, what?!), Jazz (Monk), country, (Dolly), et al.) got me wanting to learn all instruments so I picked up keys, bass, guitar and anything else I could get my paws on, including the accordion which made its way, almost unrecognizable, on to a couple of ambient songs on the album. In the 90s I was taken over by all the music coming out from Pixies to GnR to INXS to cheesy stuff too (I'll sing Seal's Kissed By A Rose at the top of my lungs if it comes on so watch out). At the same time, my brother gave me the Zappa albums Sheik Yerbouti and Chunga's Revenge which blew my mind. Then, I heard Rage Against the Machine which lead me to Public Enemy and Tribe Called Quest and there was no getting me back once I start down that road. Today, I have really opened up to everything and anything. I'm absorbing music at an insane rate and it's awesome, there is so much good stuff out there.

5. Who are your favorite musicians?

Right now I'm going back to school to get a music composition degree so I'm deeply entrenched in the classics. It's cliche, but JS Bach was insane. Insane. You listen to his stuff and you hear Metallica's One, you hear Wu-Tang busting out polyphonic layers over some harpsichord beats. It's still in everything. Other than that, I'm listening to Kendrick, TV on the Radio, Lizzo! (New album is so good), my girls turned me on to Mattiel, Nathy Peluso, Ariana Grande. I think Cardi B's tunes are pretty good, the production is great on her stuff. And sorry but I like LilNasX's song C7osure (damn you Spotify for your algorithm!). I would like to say I hate Charlie Puth, but I don't have much say to what songs get stuck in my head. I really dig MF Doom and everyone he worked with like King Ghidorah (Tic, Tic is amazing). Black Star May have an album soon so I'm mostly freaking out until that happens. Vampire Weekend's new album is good. Kevin Abstract is good. I've also been going through old tunes I liked as a teenager and seeing if they hold up - Smashing Pumpkins were so good... that C&C Music Factory, though...

6. What have been the greatest challenges/frustrations of your career so far?

I think it was the point at which I was writing music and not knowing what my sound was so I was all over the place but not finding a connection between them all. I found myself asking everybody around me if something sounded good or just completely hiding it away and not showing anyone. Which was extremely frustrating, like I was ashamed of just being me. It's a much longer connection to many things throughout my life where I looked to others to approve of what I did, when they said I probably shouldn't do something that I was getting into, I made the mistake of listening all the time and not knowing the right kind of person to listen to, or most importantly, not finding my inner will. Dirty White is very much a turning point from that unsure area to the "oh, this is my voice, it was here all along" and just owning it, which is so fulfilling. Dirty White explores a great deal of having a voice taken away, whether I watch it being taken from people most susceptible to the overpowering and unequal distribution of wealth, or I watch white men, like myself, take their own voice away as they slip into their own protective skin color and economic place. This album is really my own meditation on my feeling of impotence when it came to bringing needed change to us as humans. I joke sometimes, get a white, liberal man mad enough, he'll start a podcast. I made an album. It doesn't fix everything but it feels like a start and maybe it will help someone, who knows.

7. As a musician, what is your definition of success?

Getting up every day and being aware as much as I can be; aware of when I'm present, when I'm not, of what my gifts are and how I can cultivate them so they can help me and others. Awareness affects everything I do; writing music, hanging with my family, friendships, work. It puts the quality of life into whatever quantity of life I may have left.

8. What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Being awake for all of it, all of what life is, whether it is joyful or unpleasant, which goes in tandem with the success question. Happiness is a very interesting term that I spend a great deal of time meditating on - how it's defined for the purposes of consumerism, which controls our lives and the hot button political topics of today; economic racism, women's control of their body, wars with oil-rich countries, etc. Maybe another album is in there.

9. What is your present state of mind?

I always have musical ideas happening in my head but I have, like any other person does, a very full schedule where I'm not working on music, so that can feel hectic, but at least I feel, right? I made the intro song on Dirty White, called Crazy Diamonds, as a wake-up song for myself. Like, literally something to wake up to. It is over the top in its good feelings and positive reinforcement, which kind of prepares the listener for an album that gets into some deep, dark areas. Like doing some cardio before going into therapy, get the blood moving. I need that positivity reminder because I can get overwhelmed and just want to be cynical and binge watch Netflix. That thing where you 'just say positive things until you feel better' works for me and that's where I am right now; calmly hectic with cynical positivity. It helps to have a rhythm and keep busy at all times. This album is built around rhythm, the first song is morning or springtime and it works through the darkest part of night/winter to the very last song being the sunrise of the next day/return to spring. It may sound like it was super planned but I'm not that good, it really fell together in that way naturally.

10. What is your most treasured possession?

Two gifts every day when I open my eyes. Also, I really like coffee.

11. What do you enjoy doing most?

Writing music while my kids make an insane amount of noise around me. I use their sounds to make ambient beats and all kinds of craziness. When you can't have silence, make music from the noise.

12. Where would you like to be in 10 years' time?

Making music and being aware. That sounds boring. How's this; living on an Elon Musk owned space station with my family and friends, floating around the earth like that Fhloston Paradise cruise ship in Fifth Element and we get free lodging because I'm part of the house band. Mos Def, relaxing from his retirement, is the band leader and a still-alive Tom Waits provides spoken word and other noises while I, like some crazy Dick Van Dyke a la Mary Poppins, supply beats and ambient sound with the Roots and Keith Richards as a backing band. Keith is in better shape than all of us and the ship is propelled by our music. That sounds better.

13. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. This year I would love to book and play more concerts and finish my 4th Musical CD.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">3. What is your take on politics?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. Politics are necessary but not necessarily exciting.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">4. Where did you get your artist name from?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. Lou Lollio is my given name.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">5. Growing up, how important has music been in your life? Can you recall the moment when you decided that you wanted to be a musician? Was it an easy or difficult choice to make?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. Growing up I was the singer in a Gospel Family Musical Group called the Acords. From the time I can remember I have been touring and performing music.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">6. Was there ever a time when you thought about doing something else? If you weren't a musician today, what could you see yourself doing?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. I have enjoyed other artistic careers. I am a Screen Actors Guild Member (SAG) and have performed in several movies "Last Action Heroes" Arnold Schwarzenegger and popular television shows including General Hospital. I continue to work in Movies and Television. Music is my first love and always will be.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">7. What has been the biggest surprise so far about making music your career? What has been an unexpected or welcome challenge to it all?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. The biggest surprise for me choosing a career in music is how it has taken me all over the world. Music is a Universal language, loved by many. One of the unexpected challenges has been to pay for International travel on a shoestring budget. Then there are times when everything is paid for you and you just get to cruise along. One day all paid and the next day pay to play so to speak. That is a surprising challenge for me.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">8. What was it like putting together your E.P?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. I have had several CD releases and the first was a very exciting time. It seemed that every obstacle was set to disrupt me. I persevered and it came out beautiful and I am very proud of that and every release that I have been blessed to have.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">9. Who are some of your favorite artists or rather, what musicians have continued to inspire you and your music? Who would you absolutely still love to work within the future?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. Some of my musical influences and artist who have inspired me have been, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, Michael W Smith and so many more. I would love to do concerts with Michael W Smith, Chris Tomlin, Bob Dylan, Matt Redman and on and on.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">10. What has it been like keeping up with your social media accounts and all of the different platforms? Is it hard to stay up to date on it all? What would you say is your favorite way to connect with your fans now?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. I am an avid Social Media artist. It is often challenging to keep up. I try to take it day by day and just put up videos and music streams on the internet using Facebook, Instagram, Reverbnation, N1M, Youtube, Itunes, Tunecore, Spotify, Apple Music, CD Baby, my own website https://LouLolliomusic.com, and almost any site that will allow me to post. I really enjoy the feedback and comradery on these sites. Friends are very encouraging.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">11. If you were going to be stranded on a deserted island, what musical item would you take with you and why?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. If I were stranded on an Island I would have to have my guitar. I also play the piano but that is hard to carry around especially on an Island.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">12. If your music was going to be featured on any TV show that is currently on right now, which would you love it to be on? Or if you prefer, what is a movie that you love that you wish your music was featured in?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. I would love to perform on Television on the Tonight Show. That has always been a dream of mine that I believe I can accomplish. Especially with the help of my Social Media Friends.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">13. At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. I hope people when they listen to my music, are moved to do something extraordinary. One of my lyrics says "I Need to Dream I need to ride upon the milky way and overcome the storm". My hope is that people will be moved to do something in their lives even if it is just to kiss their child and tell them they love them. We all need to be moved. Music is definitely a catalyst to be moved.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">14. When you are not making music what else do you enjoy to do?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. When I am not making music I am enjoying the ocean, the beach, traveling the world, sailing.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">15. Where you @ online?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A. Join me online, Facebook, Instagram, Reverbnation, N1M, Youtube, Itunes, Tunecore, Spotify, Apple Music, CD Baby, LouLollio@aol.com, my own website https://LouLolliomusic.com.

<span style="font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: medium;">A west coast export making his way south, Joe The Bluesman is ready for success, and he wants you to know it. The So Cal native is creating a strong buzz with the recent release of his E.P Seasons. Skoli of Skope Magazine described him as "a rocker who is a bit older and tamer, a wild man of So Cal traversing the country in his RV with his one-man electric blues show."

<span style="font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: medium;">The E.P was released on December 18th, 2018. A single Ol Black Cat was released in advance and currently has garnered the bluesman over 100k in streams across Sound Cloud, Spotify, YouTube and Apple Music. The Tuned Loud Blog reviewed Ol Black Cat and a second track Leisure Time Blues in advance of the release. Tuned Loud described the singles as follows, "when listening to Leisure Time Blues and Ol Black Cat, a succession of moods washes over us and at their deepest point they resemble a psychedelic trance."

<span style="font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: medium;">Joe The Bluesman aka Joe Campobasso was born in Kansas City in 1954.
