In 2014 MECAP Music and Entertainment a decision was made to not release any music of any genre that had profanity or FCC banned words, including the Nword.
After dealing with a few potty mouthed rappers in the early 2000s, I recalled a time when I felt bad about not being able to let my Mom hear the CD of of one of the acts when we stopped by on her home on a tour as we headed to Chicago,
I recall so vividly as she prepared a care package for their road trip with candies and fruits of her telling me "Well I like L.L. Cool J", and I was like Mom, their music is nothing like L.L. Cool J. All of my music career my mother had been involved in one way or another, even allowing bands such as Manchild and APRIL, the band to rehearse in her basement.
I firmy believe music should be universal with all ears being able to hear it.
The policy about no Parental Advisory stickers shall remain intact here.
Over the years we have lost a few acts that wanted to express themselves with profanities, but that is them, and not what we do here.
Additionally I will not promote or release music that insults women by calling them the bword or that disparages homosexuals, Lesbians, fat people, skinny people, mentally ill people, Jewish people, religions, any race or ethnic groups.
