HAYWARD, CALIFORNIA (APW) – On August 23rd, All Pro Wrestling officials announced that due to the actions taken by former Universal Heavyweight Champion Dylan Drake at the end of his match earlier this month with current Universal Champ "The Boss" Derek Sanders, that Dylan Drake would be suspended from competition for 30 days. Due to this suspension, Drake would be ineligible to compete at the September 11, 2010 Gym Wars Television Taping. APW officials had no choice but to suspend Drake following legal action taken by Derek Sanders and his team of lawyers. Dylan Drake accepted the suspension, issuing this statement, "I want to apologize for my actions after my APW Universal Heavyweight title match with "The Boss" Derek Sanders. Derek Sanders finally made me reach my boiling point and I snapped. That was not the actions of an honorable competitor and for that I sincerely apologize to All Pro Wrestling and my loyal fans. I agree to the ruling of the suspension and I will be back on October 16th for Halloween Hell."

Dylan Drake had issued a challenge to Derek Sanders for a Non-Title match at APW Halloween Hell XIII on October 16th. Due to the stipulations of the match between Drake and Sanders on August 14, Drake cannot challenge for the Universal Heavyweight title as long as Sanders holds it. Sanders immediately declined. However, APW officials have selected a new competitor to challenge Sanders for his APW title.

"Big Country" Jody Kristofferson suffered a back injury that kept him out of the ring last month, but the young APW sensation feels 100% and ready to challenge for the APW Universal Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career. Jody has racked up an impressive win streak in 2010 including a pinfall victory over “The Boss” during the 2010 Super Summer Series in June. The last three months of last year, these two men feuded, with Sanders using every underhanded trick he could come up with to defeat Kristofferson at Halloween Hell XII and the November 2009 Gym Wars, before Kristofferson was able to spear Sanders to put him away at Kristmas Kaos 2009. That match, along with Kristofferson's win against Sanders at the 2010 Super Summer Series gives the youngster two consecutive wins over Sanders, and a lot of confidence going into this match. That said, while Kristofferson did get a win over Sanders in the 2010 Super Summer Series, it was Sanders who won that event, and then went on to take the Universal Heavyweight title from Jeckles the Jester at the APW Live event, Wrestling for the Wounded Warrior Project, in Santa Rosa, California back in July. On September 11, 2010, these two men who have both been on a tear through APW will face off, as three-time APW Universal Heavyweight Champion, "The Boss" Derek Sanders, will defend his title against "Big Country" Jody Kristofferson!

In addition, Jeckles the Jester will seek retribution against "The Mountain From Stone Mountain" Larry Blackwell and his manager, the self-professed "Greatest Mind in Professional Wrestling", Matthew Theall. Earlier this month, it was Theall who offered his services to Jeckles with a promise to take him back to the Universal Championship. Jeckles declined, and later paid the price after Theall caused Jeckles to be distracted, costing him a match against one of Theall's part-time associates, 2010 APW Young Lions Cup winner, Corvus. Now, Jeckles has revenge on his mind in this match which will propel one of these men closer to a shot at reclaiming the Universal title for themselves.
