Tell Us About You and Your Career: Shawtee RE is a Canadian born, international Hip Hop/Dancehall artist, musician, songwriter, dancer, published model and actor. Born to a Trinidadian father and Canadian mother, Shawtee RE has been nominated in the top female rappers in Canada by Hookedup B Magazine, bigmouthsonline.com and hiphopcanada.com and has appeared on the cover of Hookedup B Magazine (Toronto) and IAMU Magazine (Atlanta). The first launch of her career began when she was featured on “Ambush TV” (Canada’s largest DVD magazine). Later on that year, she began working with rapper $truck (Now signed to DPG). Alongside his label, she released two mixtapes “1st Lady” (2008) and “Diary Of A G” (2009). Together they performed many live shows including opening for rapper Flo-Rida and hosting the 2008 Juno Awards after-party with Russell Peters. Shawtee RE sets herself apart from other female rappers with her 8 years of professional training in dance (Hip Hop and Dancehall) and her talents not only as songwriter but also as a pianist and her ability to write her own musical compositions. Shawtee RE is also a trained actor (Quest Theater and University Of Calgary). All these talents and knowledge combined make Shawtee RE a great live performer. Opening not only for Hip Hop/Rap artists but also Dancehall and Reggae artists including the legendary Mr. Vegas (2012). In 2010, Shawtee RE signed with management company 7 Figure Entertainment (Miami) but later parted ways in 2012 to new management (TBA in 2013)

In 2011 Shawtee RE released her single “Rydin On My Coattailz” which gained international exposure and radio play including a “top 40” station in Canada and many stations in the US and UK. Due to the success of the young artist’s first single, Shawtee RE signed a worldwide licensing and distribution deal with AIN Music & Distribution (2012). Shawtee RE is now currently working with Grammy winning producer Ryan “Ghost” Bowser (won the Grammy for Nelly “Dilemma” featuring Kelly Roland) on her upcoming album and next single “Gimme Dat” scheduled for sale (through ECMD/Universal Fontana), radio and Billboard release in 2013

While keeping true to herself, her inspirational story of having lived through the street life as a hustler and growing up witnessing the death of her alcoholic mother, Ghost has helped Shawtee RE to develop her unique sound. Some say a cross between Missy Elliot and a female version of Eminem, making her stand out among her female counter parts for creativity, versatility and personalized flow. She has also appeared on many mixtapes alongside rappers Eminem, Jim Jones and Eve, to name a few. Shawtee RE’s much anticipated 3rd mixtape “No Remorse” hosted by international celebrity DJ, DJ Prince was released in November 2012 with huge success. Proving once again, she has the continued support and love from her international fan base. Shawtee RE is currently performing constantly and on her way to transferring her title as one of the top female rappers in Canada, to the world.
