Sugar Bear was always a sideman playing guitar and backup vocals. He toured as N-Syncs lead guitar player in studio and live. He also toured with acts such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gloria Estevan and The Miami Sound Machine, Goo Goo Dolls, R.E.M, Black Eyed Peas, A-Ha, Nazareth, The Police, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, and too many more to mention.
After years on the road with his band everybody went home brokenhearted. Sugar Bear landed a job in a hotel where he sat upon on a stool playing acoustic guitar and taking requests that someone would yell out. For the first time Sugar Bear was making money.
Another sideman Jim Burmeister was unemployed and joined Sugar Bear. Shortly after Jimmy Brotherton was added from the old N-Sync line up and they became The Beaver Brothers. The Beaver Brothers performed shows with The Dare Devils, Van Zants, Head East, Badfinger, and so on.
It was time for a change. Kort Elsworth (Drums), and his brother Ronzo (Bass/Vocals) had played and sang together since birth and became Sugar Bear Trio. The group opened for many acts, playing clubs, concerts, events, and even weddings. The band achieved air play of "Thats How Love" twice a day on ABC Radio Network. They also achieved air play in daily rotation for several other songs on all the affiliate ABC Radio Network stations.
Sugar Bear Trio are getting played every day on 11 Loud City affiliate stations and are in the rotation on those 11 stations. They are currently mini touring playing every show in site. They are playing bars and the venues are club format mixed with covers and their own material. They also do a 30, 60, and 90 minute original show in the concert venues. Touring has really made them BATTLE ready as a live act.
Loud City affiliates: Hundreds of stations in the organization and Sugar Bear Trio are hitting them all that are their genre. They are contacting newspapers, venues, and local people to get the buzz out in those towns where they get airplay and book venues.
Sugar Bear @ Stevie5 were the founders of N-Sync. They played, toured, wrote and sang in the band from 1982 to 1992. They toured with many acts throughout the world.
These songs are from the “I Believe It's Time" album that was scheduled to be released by Enigma in 92. It was the bands 13 Album, imagine that. Sugar Bear and Stevie5 have their own Ourstage sites individually. They thought it would be cool for the world to see what the original N-Sync sounded like before they jumped ship and it turned into the BOY BAND.
"Thanks for participating in our experiment" Sugar Bear & Stevie5 (guitar). Also Ben Tiskus (keys and vocals) and Jimmy Brotherton (percussion and drums). Remastered and restored to digital from tape @ EMR by Bill Ball.
