...Amazingly so, this is what a regular week looks like for the Street Sweeperz' own THE MIXXXMASTER DJ QUICK. It is no wonder, why he has earned the name "The Party Rocker". So what is it that makes him such a hot commodity that promoters will fly him half way around the world for him to play records....or should I say perform. There are few DJ's that can produce the energy that DJ QUICK does in the club. When he is at work you can feel the intensity and passion he has for the music. As he switches from record to record the crowd feeds off his energy. He amps the crowd by hollering into the mic, then throws on an even hotter record. And just when you think the party is at its climax you hear a robotic sample echoing "ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND AROUND THE WORLD DJ QUICK LIVE AND DIRECT", and then yet another record hotter then the last!!! DJ QUICK record selection, energy and attitude truly defines him as an artist. Hearing and watching him play is a performance in itself! So that is why promoters will do whatever necessary to have DJ QUICK play their club. To no surprise, DJ QUICK has played for events such as "The No Way Out Tour" in the US with DIDDY (1998), “MIMS Concert” S. Padre, TX (2007), Las Vegas' "Jet Night Club Bow Wow’s Birth Day Party" (2008), “The 2 Live Crew” (2009) San Antonio, TX. DJ QUICK is very versatile from Hip-Hop & R&B to Reggaeton, 80’s Retro, Electro, House, B-More, Rock, Cumbias, or Old School he’s got you covered!!! If you have a heartbeat he’ll put that in a Mixxx.

Before DJ QUICK was selling out clubs or playing on the #1 radio station in Chicago, he was Ruben S. Mendez, a Hispanic kid from Chicago. At age 12, DJ QUICK was introduced to the turntables and soon after got his first set of Techniques 1200's. In 1986 DJ QUICK debuted his first mixtape , simply entitle "Hip Hop Hitz Vol. 1". What was soon to follow was no simple endeavor. DJ QUICK began putting out mixtapes every month and quickly made a name for himself. Soon after, DJ QUICK broke into the club scene in 1991. By 1999, DJ QUICK had established himself as a dominant mixtape DJ and was playing in at least 4 clubs a week. He went back to Chicago and started networking with all the DJ’s on Chicago’s #1 station, WBBM 96.3 FM’s B96 soon after he began spinning at different remotes for B96. This was a milestone for DJ QUICK, being able to spin on Chicago’s #1 radio station and be heard by listeners throughout the entire Chicago land area. DJ QUICK moved back to San Antonio, TX. DJ QUICK also began Spinin on-air for KZBT 93.3 in Midland Odessa (2006) then moved over to KMRK WILD 96.1 (2007) and moved once again to KIBT 96.1 THE BEAT (2008) Colorado Springs, CO and then decided that KCRS KISS 103.3 FM (2008) would be his final destination. DJ QUICK has worked with “MURPHY LEE”, “MIMS”, and is currently in the works with “THE 2 LIVE CREW” & “PITBULL” on the MIXTAPE Scene.

So what does the future hold for the “The Party Rocker DJ QUICK”, you ask? He has plans on traveling the world playing in as many countries as possible to hopefully becoming internationally known. DJ QUICK has set his sight for XBOX 360, MTV, & BET Television for any guest appearances that require a DJ and also acquiring his own clothing line and returning some of the proceeds to his community. It is quite evident that DJ QUICK aspires to do greatness in everything he takes on. The Local news paper dedicated to the Hip-Hop & R&B scene took note to interview him in the SA URBAN October 2007 Edition for the DJ Spotlight Section. DJ QUICK continues to play at 5 to 6 clubs a week, and you can catch him on air every Saturday night on KCRS 103.3 KISS FM, whether it’s a trendy club in San Antonio, TX or a Stadium of 30,000, there is no crowd he can't handle.
