- Rising star Elijahawon Perrin, also known on stage as Young Smurf or The Prophecy, was born on February 23, 1989 in the Hall of Fame city, Canton, Ohio. Having dreamed of becoming a musician at an early age, he was highlighted on the front page of the local newspaper for his dancing & rapping skills, and for gaining a significant following on Youtube. Steadily building his name and experience in the game, he has over 90 videos with viewers from all over the world, also drawing fans to his Myspace page (myspace.oom/smurfsraps). In the studio he's an engineer, and has credits as a singer, songwriter and rapper.
Having performed locally in many venues in Canton, Ohio, Smurf has also blazed the stage in Texas, Chicago and Atlanta with many major artist such as Ginuwine, Twista, Shawty Lo, Young Buck, and the Playas Circle. Smurf is no stranger to the stage - quickly gaining respect at each stop with high energy performances and clear cut wordplay painting a picture for the crowd to see - and nod their head to. Smurf has also had local radio play on Q92 and V-103 with Mark D.
Smurf has been on the grind. At only age 21 he has already released 7 mixtapes, is working on his eighth, and his first album is set to hit the streets in fall 2010. His latest mixtape entitled "I Demand My City" with production from Jaymes 'Thr3efourteen' Ball of Mega Beat International is on the streets right now. Expectations are high for this mixtape; it demonstrates his personality, creativity and versatility.
Smurf is presently working with Walter Chism Jr. aka 'Walt B.' President of CJ Atist Management & Prouction Company, giving him that extra edge - putting a hard working management team behind him so he can focus his attention on the music. There's a long road ahead of him but he has what it takes to stay focused and per-severe to make it happen.
