1-When and why did you start playing?

I started to play violin when I was 4 years old. Piano became my second instrument at age 7 and I also started singing. I saw young violinists on tv and wanted to go on that magical music trip also. It was famous violin pedagogy Geza Silvay and a magical journey in music land.

2-Which famous musicians do you admire?

Violinists Itzak Perlman, Victoria Mullova and Leonidas Kavakos were my inspiration when I was young. Over the years I have admired many other artists as well and my musical taste has changed often, I am also a currently a fan of numerous pop artists.

3-Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones?

When I was younger, I listened to classical music. As I got older, I discovered a love for R&B, Soul, Latin and Country music. I educated myself on the laws in music by listening to big classical compositions and learning melody, harmony and rhythm. I am well versed in many sty

4-You have recently moved to the United States. How does the music industry differ here from where you are from?

Yes, I moved to Los Angeles a bit over a year ago to study music business management in UCLA Extensions program. The year has been a wonderful journey learning about the music industry in one of the music capitols of the world. Finland where I am from is a small country and it has been very interesting to discover a new perspective to the music industry. Here in Los Angeles the competition is tough, but the opportunities are endless. Isn’t this called Lala Land?

5-How do you like it here in the US so far?

I love Los Angeles, all this diversity, international atmosphere, kind people, there is alot to do and experience all the time. Of course, this Covid-19 situation has changed everything but still I am lucky to see this different world.

6-What makes music "good" to you?

I like music that is melodic, has good and relatable lyrics and great harmony, but like I told you, I enjoy many kinds of music.

7-How do you use violin in your music?

I still play Classical music, but I also play R&B and Soul music by violin. It is interesting to see how many kinds of things you can do with the classical instrument. I am also interested in collaborations with other artists, so please contact if you have some idea with violinist.

8-Let’s Talk about your music and your last work…

I have studied music production process and learned so much about recording, mixing, mastering and independent music production and publishing. Just starting to do my first own music projects and it is really exiting.

9-How do you feel about the internet in the music business?

Streaming has changed the whole music industry a lot. Artists get their money from royalties and you need to be much more creative to get earnings from merchandise sales. Hopefully, the entertainment industry opens soon after this Covid thing and artists can start do live gigs again.

10-What are the plans?

I am just finished my music business management studies in UCLA Extensions program and now I am starting OPT. Hopefully I have change to write and produce my own music and collaborate with all these awesome musicians and producers here in Los Angeles.

11-How has your music evolved since you first began playing music?

Of course, experience brings new perspectives and this year has been amazing opportunity to learn new things in music industry. I feel that I have so much deeper touch and I enjoy music even more now.
