Welcome to the Home of Super Stars (Past, Present & Future)
Up and Comers in music are a dime a dozen. They come and go young and old. Yet filmmakers, when they finally reach their true brilliance, are a rare gem to come by. And without a shadow of a doubt, the little known director of hundreds of short works and a couple obscure cultish features, Dvaid N. Donihue has delivered a picture so potent and profound, it’s hard to believe you’re watching a comedy where you laugh so hard that you cry.
Do not be fooled by THE BANG BANG BROKERS dark and desperate opening. The film quickly sky rockets you to the top (and bottom) of the human experience and makes you question everything about the way the world works along the way. I wish I knew David Donihue. I wish I could buy him a blunt and roast on the top of one of those skyscrapers where the heroes of his delightfully subversive tale stand. But for now, I will say to Mr. Donihue, Kudos for giving me a film where the filmmakers actually give a shit about the world that we live in. And yes, I laughed really, really hard.
