In the liminal space of falling apart, music is born – Musician and Songwriter, Jai-Jagdeesh, picks up the pieces of a broken self on her new release 'From Dust'

Jai-Jagdeesh releases her new album, ‘From Dust’  today through Spirit Voyage Records. This heart wrenching journey of an album shares the keening grief and shouts of joy that come with pulling together a life from broken pieces.  Jai-Jagdeesh allows the layers of reality and liminal space to intermingle in the songs on this album.  She explores the question of what is to be human amidst betrayal on her most daring and introspective project to date.

Says Jai-Jagdeesh, “My heart wasn’t whole enough to be able to do anything more than refract little bits of light, a little beam from each piece of itself, all of which was then lovingly wrapped up in the beautiful sonic spaces created by my musical friends. This album is a portrait of a broken person working towards healing. It’s a snapshot of a time in life when there was no such thing as up or down; there was only chaotic zero-gravity liminal space. It’s a study in processing inner work out loud.

‘From Dust’ is an offering rich with lyrics and melodies that express the discomfort and challenge of existing in the space between what was and what will be. Guitars awash in reverb twist with the tails of violins to create a bed for her honest and intimate vocals. ‘From Dust’ is a falling apart and a search for rebuilding; a bittersweet journey; and Jai-Jagdeesh expresses it with the most exquisite and intentional touch.

‘From Dust’ includes thirteen tracks, taking us on a vulnerable musical journey with the release of the full album. It is available on all major music platforms.

Jai-Jagdeesh

Jai-Jagdeesh’s latest musical autobiography, “From Dust,” is a poetry of broken loss that teaches how to become whole again. Jai-Jagdeesh spent the past few years confronting uncomfortable truths and questioning long-cemented beliefs – oftentimes in the wake of devastating revelations. Asking "why" and "how" came first, followed closely by introspection, and as layers of trauma revealed themselves and her foundation crumbled, a painful process began. This dark chapter, with its quest for understanding, learning, repair, and renewal, is revealed over the course of 13 tracks. Listeners are invited to bear witness to the grief and growth that comes from facing betrayal and disillusionment as Jai-Jagdeesh reclaims her whole Self – encouraging listeners to do the same.

Jai-Jagdeesh has toured globally, taking audiences on a musical ride that transcends the all-too-brief concert-going experience. Having amassed millions of listeners with songs that defy classification, Jai-Jagdeesh’s relationship with music continues to span continents and cultures through the wide ocean of the human heart. During her career, she has collaborated with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ian Urbina, charted multiple times in the top five of iTunes’s World Music Charts, and charted in the top ten of Billboard’s New Age Music charts.
