This is such a wonderful story. It happened May 28, 2009. As you know I have a Non-Profit Organization Amen X-Press. I sing at Nursing Homes, Retirement Homes, Assisted Living, Hospitals, Churches, Benefits, & where I am need and where the Lord leads me.
I also own and operate a Grooming and Boarding Facility. On this particular day. I was delivering dogs and was on my way back to the shop. I noticed that there was an officer at a little rock house. It is not too far from where my shop is located. I happed to be through for the morning so I decided to take my walk a little early. My friend Kathy and I walk after we have lunch and pick up trash along the road to try to keep our road clean and pretty.
But this particular day I was going it alone, I was curious about the policeman, and wanted to see if there was prayer needed. It was around 11:20am. There seemed to be a lot of trash that morning by the time I reached the little house the officer was gone and there was just this huge pile of trash in front of this little house. I stood there and thought. How am I going to pick all of this trash up. We use those pinchers that you would use to pick up socks off the floor so you don't have to bend over. Just as I was about to dig in, I heard a voice behind me....."May I help You?" I turned around to find a woman in a big white van. She asked if she could help me clean up my property. I grinned and told her what I was doing. She sat there and thought for a moment and said, "Can I still help?". I smiled and said sure! She pulled her big van into a drive and out jump 12 to 15 teenagers smiling and singing. The next thing I saw was that big pile of trash dissappear. It was all gone and in the trash bag. After I snapped back to my senses I asked. "Where are Ya"ll from?" They smiled and said Kansas City. I said. "Kansas City. What are all you doing here in Texas who are you with?". They said. "IHOP" Ok, by this time I was really confused. I guess by the look on my face they could tell that I was lost.
Then they explained. International House Of Prayer.
I just about fell over. After that sank in. Then the excitement began. I told them about my mission. I took them back to my shop and gave them all one of my cards, told them about the mission I was on, and introduced them to everyone at the shop. I told them what a blessing they are and what good work they are doing.
Yes God is with us. You may think you are all alone on a back road picking up trash, but He is right there beside you. What a mighty God we serve. Amen!
