We had a listening party for The Sampler Platter #1 by Yoki Gold Here is what we thought

#musicmoney just got through a listening session for the brand new mixtape The Sampler Platter, by California’s rising talent Yoki Gold.

Yoki Gold is a musician influenced by the likes of upac and The Outlaws, N.W.A., Eminem, Big L, C-Bo, Yukmouth, The Hot Boyz and E-40, and the influences shine through on the project.

“Like a hound i hunt, sniffin’ out the money”

From the explosive opener Whatcha Doin', with orchestral swirls, one unique voice and flows on flows you know we are in for a treat.

Other highlights include the absolute BANGER Realism which is everything you would expect from a dope Westcoast artist with a crazy pen game.

“Feds at the front door, Devil on my shoulder”

And The Interlude which Yoki nonchalantly flows “this record is a book for the world im’a genius”

This mixtape is an extremely solid project from start to finish and clearly comes from a rapper that has studied the art of hip hop and added his own unique flavours to it. With a dope recording voice, bars for days and hooks running throughout the core of the tape, The Sampler #1 is well worth a listen. If you like real hip hop, Yoki Gold is next up.

There’s more on the way too from the artist, with Yoki stating “I will be dropping (The Sampler - Platter #2) very soon, which will also be free for download while I am finishing up my actual album that will be dropping in the fall of 2020!”
